Thanks for all the participants who have made the GBC 2011 Table Tennis
Tournament successful. It is delightful to have a gatehring of our community,
and to meet a variety of players, young and old, accomplished and inexperienced.
We have more than 50 players competing in the three events. The champion
of the advanced group goes to Scott Malek, an accomplished player of Power Pong,
and the runner-up is Ronald Yu of GBC, who is also trained at Power Pong, and is
an organizing committee member; John Lin and Kevin Wei won the third and fourth
places respectively.
We hope to see you again in the next GBC Table Tennis

Events
| Each match is played with handicapped points. Based on the estimated USATT rating ( honour system ), the stronger player has to give a handicap point to the weaker player for every hundred points difference in rating with an upper value capped at 3. The minimum estimated rating for any player is 1600. The following are some examples of the starting score of a game: |

The committee reserves the right to adjust the estimated USATT rating of a player.
We accept 24 entries for each event, first-come-first-served. Each player can only enter one
event. The deadline of registration is June 19, 2011. Interested players please fill out
the following form. They may give the filled form and registration fee directly to Tong Yu
or John Lin, or write a check addressable to "GBC", and mail the form and the check to:
| Players who participated in the last tournament and have a valid email address may register online at http://www.efctt.com/gbc. A slightly modified double-elimination format is used. Each player plays at least two matches. After the first round, loser matches will be played first. Though it is very unlikely to happen, unfinished matches have to be played at about 7:00 pm on the tournament date. GBC will provide snacks and drinks during the playing session. Players are welcome to bring a plate or some snacks to share with others. Photos of the tournament will be taken and posted on the web site of http://www.efctt.com/gbc. |
